Don’t miss VLT’s involvement with other local theatres in the Juneteenth Project Polar Bears, Black Boys & Prairie Fringed Orchids by Vincent Terrell Durham.

This play touches on many subjects including racism and police violence reflecting the civil uprising we are now experiencing nationwide. It is for a mature audience.

Friday, June 19th at 7 p.m.

Audiences can access the event on Zoom, or on Oregon Contemporary Theatre’s website, Facebook Live and YouTube pages.
In response to the COVID-19 health concerns, The Very Little Theatre has canceled the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
Very Little Theatre is closing its 91st season due to COVID-19

Very Little Theatre (VLT), the longest continually producing community theatre west of the Mississippi is closing it’s doors (temporarily) for the first time in its 91 years of operation.

The Board of Directors of Very Little Theatre is sad to announce that VLT must officially close the rest of this current season. Like you, we must recognize the crisis we all face and do what is necessary to support the health and safety of our community. And, although we do not know when we will be able to invite you back to participate in and enjoy all that our theatre offers, we are working hard to create a plan that allows us to be flexible and swift in our response.

When able, we intend to open our doors with a production of Little Women, the Musical, which was abruptly suspended on March 13th due to the necessary closure. In addition, Cat Lady, The Diary of Anne Frank, and The Ladies of the Camellias are a priority to produce at a later date. We also hope to reschedule productions planned in collaboration with Minority Voices Theatre.

In the meantime, the Board of Directors is making good use of the quiet time we have; reaching out to our ticket and season pass patrons about refunds, as well as focusing on VLT’s financial stability. As always, we welcome any support to offset our monthly costs through this time when we cannot be producing plays. We stay optimistic and look to the future when we can move forward with the necessary steps to remodel the building.

We sincerely appreciate your support during this uncertain time and will continue to do what we can for our community and the performing arts.
