Building for Future Generations
Over the decades, the Very Little Theatre’s home has been enjoyed by tens of thousands of patrons. It is now time to upgrade our spaces to provide a comfortable, easily accessible environment for our patrons and safe, flexible, efficient workplace for our artists while retaining the essential features of the original design. The design by well-known architect Otto Poticha will address three areas:
Auditorium
- Rebuild on an increased slope to improve visibility
- Larger seats with increased leg room
- Adequate alter-abled seating
- Retention and highlight of existing arched wood beams
Stage
- Extend the stage by 14 feet
- Rebuild the stage floor
- Replace overhead rigging with a modern safe system to hand lights, curtains and scenery
Scene shop
- Expand to double size
-
Increase space for building sets, freeing up the stage for community use
between productions - Alleviate crowded storage of props, furniture and lighting instruments

Community • Commitment • Paying It Forward
Our founders set a path forward nine decades ago. It is our turn to set a path for future generations of theater goers and doers. Our goal of $1.5 million can be reached with your help. Consider joining us in building on to this treasure of the Eugene-Springfield community.
