“The Game’s Afoot” by Ken Ludwig is a snappy, clever drawing room mystery that is murderously funny. Set in 1936, the play features fun-filled characters such as Broadway star William Gillette, known for his brilliant role as Sherlock Holmes, thrust into a real-life murder mystery when he invites fellow cast members to his home for the weekend. The promised festivities soon turn into dangerous games as Gillette resumes the role of Sherlock Holmes to solve the surprising murder. From the play’s opening to the surprise last scene, “The Game’s Afoot” offers everything you love about live theater.
