The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wilde

A fantasy by Paul Zindel

Mildred Wilde is a New York housewife who has virtually escaped from reality into a dream world conjured up by the 3,000 movies she has eagerly devoured. And when the outside world intrudes-via her husband, his meddling sister, their hard-boiled landlady, the mincing butcher from next door, or the foreman of the wrecking crew sent to tear down the building-Mildred meets each crisis by escaping into her own fantasy versions of some of Hollywood's most famous films, including "Gone With the Wind," "King Kong" and "Casablanca." This is a show that will employ some special effects to transport both the audience and Mildred into her fantasies, as she tries to work out the problems in her life.

Director Melina Neal has cast veteran actress Christine Cody as Mildred; Lawrence Larson as her husband, Roy; Martha Greaney as her sister, Helen; Phillip Hudspeth as the butcher; Eileen Peterson as the landlady; Laurie deGonzalez as a nun, and Debra Marquess and Anthony O'Keefe as media people.
