The Very Little Theatre will open its facility for the next in its popular series of VLTours, on Wednesday, July 27, from 12:15 to 1 p.m. The free tour is an opportunity for the public to go backstage and learn more about one of the country’s oldest and most successful community theaters.
The tour will start in the front lobby for a brief history of the VLT’s beginnings in 1929. Then it’s on to Stage Left, the dressing rooms, Green Room, and the costume shop. The tour will then head backstage to the workshop and onto the main stage set of the drama Dead Man's Cell Phone by Sarah Ruhl, which opens Friday, July 29. There will also be information about the upcoming musical Cowgirl Heaven, opening in Stage Left August 19.
The VLT plans to offer the free tour on the Wednesday preceding the opening of each of its main stage plays. The next tour will be on Wednesday October 12, prior to the opening of VLT's 83rd season with Communicating Doors by Alan Ayckbourn on Friday, October 14.
